Measuring the Impact of Regenerative Agriculture 

 

This project aims to implement regenerative agriculture practices on 30 acres of land in Odulupalli village, Andhra Pradesh, India. To assess the project’s impact, a crucial first step is establishing a baseline for four key parameters: 

 

  1. Soil Health:
  • Assessment: Soil tests will be conducted to measure parameters like organic matter content, nutrient levels (e.g., nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium), pH, and microbial activity. 
  • Trend Analysis: Comparing these results against historical data (if available) or data from a control plot will reveal trends in soil health over time. 
  1. Biodiversity:
  • Assessment: Surveys will be conducted to identify and quantify plant and animal species present within the project area. This could involve counting species, utilizing camera traps, or conducting ecological surveys. 
  • Trend Analysis: Similar to soil health, comparing biodiversity data against historical records or control plots will reveal trends in species richness and ecosystem health. 
  1. Water:
  • Assessment: Water availability will be measured through methods like rainfall monitoring, groundwater level monitoring, and assessing existing irrigation systems. Additionally, soil moisture content will be tracked through probes or sensors. 
  • Trend Analysis: Analyzing historical data on rainfall patterns, water usage, and groundwater levels will provide context for changes observed during the project.
