Optimizing Supply Chain Efficiency with Smart Containerization
Seed companies grapple with a persistent challenge: the infiltration of spurious seeds, jeopardizing the livelihoods of its farmers and the integrity of its crops. It faces significant challenges in shipment tracking, batch aggregation, and compliance adherence due to traditional, unstructured containerization methods. With inefficient batch grouping, lack of serialization, and manual shipment processes, the companies struggle with delays, mismanagement, and increased costs in its supply chain operations.
To overcome these inefficiencies, the seed companies implemented an intelligent Containerization System, enabling batch aggregation, automated container ID generation, and serialized/unserialized batch tracking. The results? Faster shipment processing, reduced supply chain errors, and improved regulatory compliance—all while optimizing logistics costs.
In a pioneering initiative to safeguard the state’s agricultural sector, one of the governments aimed not only to combat the proliferation of counterfeit seeds but also to instil trust and transparency across the entire seed supply chain in the state.
As part of the initiative, prominent seed producing companies, including Kurnool Seed Pvt Ltd. (KSPL) and Sri Rama Seed Pvt Ltd. (SRS), were enlisted for paddy and cotton seeds.

Challenge
Unstructured Batch Aggregation
Manual grouping of product batches resulted in poor shipment organization, causing delays and inefficiencies in distribution.
The lack of standardized containerization led to handling errors, product damage, and increased storage costs.
Limited Shipment Visibility & Tracking
The company struggled to track product movement within containers due to non-serialized shipment structures.
No real-time data on batch allocation within containers led to difficulties in monitoring shipment status and ensuring compliance.
Compliance Risks & Lack of Standardization
Without unique container IDs, the company faced audit challenges and regulatory penalties for non-compliance.
Product recalls became complex due to poor traceability of batch origins, leading to delays in addressing quality control issues.
Solution
To address these challenges, the company adopted TraceX’s Containerization feature that offered:
Batch Aggregation for Efficient Shipments – The company grouped multiple SKUs into structured containers, reducing handling errors.
Serialized & Unserialized Batch Tracking – The system enabled flexible tracking options, improving shipment accuracy.
Automated Containerization ID Generation – Each container received a unique, dynamic QR code, streamlining tracking and audit readiness.
Real-Time Shipment Monitoring – Enhanced supply chain visibility and logistics optimization, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
A Seed Producing Company aims to serialize seed packets, containerize them, and enable real-time tracking using Dynamic QR (DQR) technology. The workflow involves printing, containerization, activation, and seamless sales transactions via a mobile and web-based system.
Serialization of Seed Packets & QR Code Printing
Each individual seed packet (SKU) is assigned a unique serial number and a QR code is printed for identification.
The QR code stores batch details, including seed type, production date, and quality parameters.
Containerization of Serialized Seed Packets
Batch aggregation begins, where multiple SKUs are packed into larger shipping units (containers):
For MOTU Paddy: Each container carries 4 SKUs.
For Cotton: Each container carries 30 SKUs.
Each container is assigned a unique Dynamic QR code (DQR), which links to all the seed packets inside it.
Mobile-Based DQR Activation & Container Tracking
The seed company uses a mobile application to:
Scan and activate the DQR of each container.
Map the serialized seed packets inside the container for batch traceability.
Ensure real-time inventory updates for better tracking.
Now, each container has a scannable identity, ensuring full visibility in the supply chain.
Enhanced Supply Chain Visibility – Real-time tracking provided greater transparency across global trade operations.
Optimized Logistics Costs & Scalability – Flexible batch structuring improved cost efficiency and global trade readiness.
By integrating structured, data-driven containerization, the company eliminated inefficiencies, optimized shipment workflows, and enhanced traceability across its supply chain.
Businesses investing in smart containerization today will future-proof their logistics, reduce costs, and maintain a competitive edge in global trade.
