TraceX deployed its Procurement Planning suite, enabling:
Single Stage Procurement
What it is:
A streamlined procurement flow where price, weight, and grade are assessed and recorded at a single point of transaction.
This method is ideal for high-volume, fast-moving crops that don’t need complex grading or multi-step validation—think wheat, maize, or pulses. These commodities typically follow market-standard pricing with minimal quality variation.
How it works:
- Field agent inputs the farmer’s name, crop weight, and observed grade.
- System calculates total price based on pre-set or dynamic rates.
- Transaction is recorded and receipt is optionally shared with farmer.
- All data syncs to the central dashboard in real-time or when online.
Benefit:
Speeds up procurement, reduces human error, and simplifies farmer payouts.
Two Stage Procurement
What it is:
A flexible model where procurement happens in two steps:
- Initial Intake – Capture basic details like crop type, estimated weight, and tentative price.
- Final Grading & Settlement – After quality checks or lab analysis, confirm the final grade and settle the price.
This is essential for high-value or sensitive commodities like coffee, cocoa, turmeric, or chillies—where minor variations in quality can significantly affect pricing.
How it works:
- Initial procurement is done in the field (with placeholder pricing).
- Once crops are transported to the warehouse or processing unit, they’re graded properly.
- Final price is updated based on grade; payment is settled accordingly.
Benefit:
Allows cooperatives or companies to ensure fair pricing, reduce fraud, and maintain quality-based sourcing strategies.
Offline Procurement Mode
What it is:
Procurement functionality that works without internet access, allowing field agents to continue buying from farmers in remote areas.
Rural, low-connectivity regions where mobile signals drop off—but procurement must go on.
How it works:
- Field agents use a mobile app that stores data locally.
- They can input all necessary details: farmer ID, crop, weight, price, grade, etc.
- Once the agent returns to a connected area, the data syncs automatically to the cloud platform.
Benefit:
Ensures business continuity, data accuracy, and full traceability—regardless of connectivity.
The UI was kept intuitive to onboard agents quickly, and supervisors could track procurement volumes in real-time on a centralized dashboard.
