Tillage

Tillage refers to the soil disturbance made during cultivation and after planting. Tilling is done by both mechanical and human-powered methods, such as digging, shoveling, stirring, picking, overturning, hoeing, etc. it is done to bring soil to the desired condition of cultivation, kill weeds and manage crop residue. It also helps in the proper intake of water, and better storage and provides a good environment for the seeds and roots.
